Tattoo terms and conditions - NICK AND CARA

(For tattoos with Coco or Sherrie please contact them directly as they may differ from these terms. For piercing terms and conditions please see Pierced By Kittys website)

A non refundable booking fee is required upon booking to secure your appointment time. If no booking fee has been received within 24 hours of being offered a date, that date will automatically be offered to someone else, we can not save dates without a booking fee being paid. For half day sessions, a £50 booking fee is required. For full day sessions, a £100 booking fee is required. For smaller appointments, a £20 booking fee is required. This will be deducted from the total price at the end of your session. If paying with a pre-paid gift voucher please specify this at the time of booking. By booking, you agree to the final price of your tattoo which you have been quoted.

When booking, please give as much information as possible regarding your ideas. Our artists schedule time at the start of your appointment to finalise designs. If you change your mind on an idea please communicate this with your artist as soon as possible. Our artist will always make sure the design is perfect before putting it onto your skin permanently, in some cases if the client changes their mind or requests significant changes to size or design, and a new design can not be agreed upon & made up on time,  then a new appointment and booking fee may be required.

If your design includes names, dates or quotes, our artists will always double check these with you when finalising the design, however it is your responsibility to ensure spelling / grammar / order of numbers etc is correct.

All tattoo designs are anatomy dependent and we reserve the right to decline service if we feel the tattoo is not suitable for the desired area. In this case, your artist will suggest alternative placements or designs which would be more suited to your anatomy.

We will not tattoo racist, hateful or otherwise offensive symbology and our artists have the right to decline service if the subject is something they are uncomforable working on.

Our artists do not provide finalised designs prior to the date of your appointment, unless specifically agreed. In the case a finalised design is to be provided before the appointment date, no design will be started until a booking fee has been paid. Once a design has been started, this booking fee is non refundable in the case of cancellation by the client, even if cancelled within the required notice period.

All clients must be aged 18 or over. We operate a "challenge 25" policy under recommendation for our local council, if you are lucky enough to look under the age of 25 then a valid, government issued ID is required.  Expired documents will not be accepted. Must be the original document, no photos or photocopies. Failure to provide ID when asked by your artist will result in cancellation of your appointment and the booking fee being retained. If paying with a pre-paid voucher, the cost of the booking fee will be deducted from the voucher. If a client is found to be under the required age, or has provided a fake ID, the appointment will be refused and the booking fee retained. If paying with  prepaid voucher, the voucher will become void and no refunds will be given.

Please arrive to your appointment at the correct time with the correct ID information. Our appointments run back to back, therefore we can not always accommodate late arrivals as it has a knock on effect to the rest of the working day. Please do not arrive too early to your appointment as there is currently no studio waiting area. Arriving more than 30 minutes late may result in your appointment being cancelled and the booking fee being retained. If paying with a pre-paid voucher the cost of the booking fee will be deducted from the voucher. If you are running late, please contact your artist as soon as possible. If you need to rescedule or cancel your appointment, a minimum of 48 hours notice is required. Rescueduling  ot cancelling with less than 48 hours notice will resut in the booking fee being retained and a new booking fee will be required to secure a new appointment. If paying with a prepaid voucher the cost of the booking fee will be deducted from the voucher. If reshceduling with more than 48 hours notice, the booking fee can be transferred to a new appointment date. Please note that a booking fee can only be transferred once, if you need to reschedule your appointment for a second time, a new booking fee will be required.

If you do not attend your appointment and do not contact us to cancel or reschedule, the booking fee will be retained and you may be refused serive again in the future. If paying with a prepaid voucher, the voucher will be void and no refunds will be given.

In the rare case that one of our artists nees to rearrange an appointment, the client will be contacted as soon as possible and offered a new appointment date; the booking fee will be transferred to the new date. If a future date can not be agreed upon with the original artist, we will offer dates with another artist at the studio. If the client does not wish to reschedule with another artist, a full refund of the booking fee will be given.

Castle Ink is a busy tattoo studio and therefore we can not have anyone under the age of 18 in the studio. Please do not bring children with you to your appointment as we can not supervise them whilst you are being tattooed and we will need to cancel the appointent; resulting in the booking fee being retained and a new booking fee will be required to secure a new appointment. If paying with a prepaid voucher, the cost of the booking fee will be deducted from the voucher. We prefer clients attend appointments alone due to space constraints, however we can allow one additional person, aged 18 or over, if you wish to bring someone for moral support.

We strive to provide an inclusive and safe envorinment for all our clients, if you have any specal requirements please let us know. We can provide "quiet sessions" for neurodivergent clients if needed, please discuss this with your artist at the time of booking so they can advise on the best times/days for quieter times at the studio, and so we can ensure all TVs/radios etc are turned off if requested.

Screens/dividers will sometimes be used to protect privacy, if there are screens placed around a work station we ask that you please respect the privacy of our artist and client. Single use covers for intimate areas can be provided if needed.

Please make sure to wear clothing which is clean, comfortable and loose fitting, and make sure the area being tattooed is easily accessible. Its also good to remeber that ink can stain clothing and tattoos bleed while being performed, so dont wear your Sunday bests!

The drinks fridge is stocked with a selection of beverages, please help yourself if you require one! These are free of charge to our customers and its important to stay hydrated during your tattoo session.

We also have fidget toys available if you require something to distract you - please ask your attist if you require anything, we will always do what we can to ensure you have a positive experience!

Please note that no food is allowed in the treatment areas, this is for hygiene reasons.

We ask that anyone attending as moral support to please be mindful and respectful of our artists, customers and studio. Do not play loud music or videos from phones, tablets, speakers etc. You are welcome to use headphones. We will ask you to leave if we feel your behaviour will effect the working enviroment or is disrupting other clients in the studio. In the case we ask you to leave, you will be banned from re-entering the studio indefinitely.

For safety reasons we can not tattoo anyone who is pregnant, chest feeding, under going IVF treatment, has certain medical conditions or is taking certain medications. We may, in some cases, require written consent from a medical professional prior to a procedure being started or completed. If you have any conditions that might affect the tattoo or healing process, or are taking any medications, please discuss this with your artist when booking.

We can not tattoo over broken, sunburnt skin or otherwise sore skin. If you have a skin condition that causes your skin to become cracked or broken and you have a flare up in the area that is due to be tattooed, please get in touch as soon as possible as we may need to reschedule to let your skin heal before we can tattoo it.

We reserve the right to refuse service and retain any booking fees paid if -

- we have reason to believe an individual is under the influence of drugs or alcohol

- we have reason to believe an individual has applied topical anaethetics not approved by us prior to the appointment

- we have reason to believe an individual is being forced or coerced into the procedure

- we have reason to believe an individual does not fully understand the procedure and aftercare required

- an individual is being abusive, aggressive or inappropritate to staff; either verbally, physically or via online communication. We operate a no tolerance policy and will report any incidences of abuse of our staff or customers to the police.

We will provide you with an aftercare balm and information on how to care for your new tattoo in the days and weeks after the procedure. It is imperative that you follow this aftercare information and do not apply products that we have not approved. We are not responsible for any issues that arise as a result of a clients failure to adhere to our aftercare guidelines.
